6/12/2023 0 Comments Books like rupi kaurThese shows are a poetic theatrical experience interlaced with her own touch of stand-up. Rupi Kaur graces stages across the globe on sold-out world tours. In 2022, she released her fourth book Healing Through Words which is a journey of guided writing exercises to help the reader explore their creativity.Īs she has done from the very beginning, Rupi self-produced Rupi Kaur Live, the first poetry special of its kind, which debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. These collections have sold more than 11 million copies and have been translated into over 43 languages. Next came its artistic siblings the sun and her flowers and home body, both debuting at #1 on bestseller lists across the world. A breakout literary phenomenon and #1 New York Times Bestselling Author, Rupi Kaur wrote, illustrated, and self-published her first poetry collection milk and honey in 2014. 6/12/2023 0 Comments Last light claire kent read onlineBut no degree of contrition will spare her from the authorities who descend, first removing her child and then transplanting her to an abandoned college campus turned dystopian re-education facility where she will, ostensibly, learn what it truly takes to be a good mother. It’s a terrible thing to have done, and she knows it. She doesn’t intend to be gone for long, but somehow time slips away, and before she realizes it, she’s been gone for hours. Jessamine Chan’s debut-like all truly terrifying nightmares-starts off in a banal, familiar way: an utterly exhausted mother, in a moment of sleep-deprived despair, does the unthinkable (and yet understandable) and walks out of her apartment, leaving her baby behind. 6/12/2023 0 Comments Ecology of mind gregory batesonBateson notes that these descriptions hang on the level at which one draws the system boundaries. The later papers of Steps redescribe human culture and communication as part of a mental or informational ecology that is planetary in scope. The strategic generality of cybernetic formulations of information and communication allows the idea of ecology to pass beyond strictly geobiological and evolutionary reference and to provide the natural-scientific foundation and systemic occasion for Bateson’s immanentist metaphysics. Published in 1972, Gregory Bateson’s Steps to an Ecology of Mind treats ecology alongside the discourse of cybernetic systems theory. This is the typical profile of a wealthy, financially independent person from the study: The authors identify a “millionaire” as someone who owns significant assets (including cash, investments, appreciable assets), with a net worth of at least US$1 million.Ĭontrary to popular belief, the process of accumulating wealth is not a flashy, rapid process, but a slow one that takes years. However, a lavish lifestyle is merely a sign of high expenses and not necessarily wealth. Most people define wealth as having plenty of material possessions. Strands of the adventures of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer on the Mississippi River echo throughout William Kent Krueger’s lyrical, compassionate This Tender Land in which four children try to escape their brutal life by taking a canoe down the Minnesota River.īest known for his series about private investigator Cork O’Connor, Krueger delves deep into his second stand-alone novel for an affecting story about growing up and overcoming a childhood filled with neglect, abuse and racism during the Depression. 6/11/2023 0 Comments Seveneves goodreadsAnyway, the Yanks beat the Chinese to the thing, and basically stitch them up so the Chinese don't get as much cool stuff. The American President, back on earth, is quite a horrible bastard, but she's well characterised. Descending into spoiler territory a little, you've got an American craft and an enemy-du-jour craft (in this book it's the Chinese) racing to get to the Space Thingy. there's a weird "America! Fuck yeah!" feeling about that. This is the second book recently (after Neal Stephenson's Seveneves) to try to make me care about orbital mechanics is this a response to humanity's lack of space travel recently? Anyway, the story's pretty compelling, and I very much like the idea of what the Space Thingy turns out to be. Although I might be being unfair to JS there. Or, more accurately I think, Sandford does a story and Ctein goes back over all the sentences and replaces "(description of how spaceships manoeuvre)" with an actual description in laborious detail. |
